Between December 3-6 ARCHIVE's second jury will evaluate entries reviewed by the first panel. The second jury has been selected for their committed interest and expertise in the areas of housing, health and community involvement. They cover a wide range of disciplines and have an international background. In the interest of debate they will come together in London to choose competition winners. Their discussions will rigorously review each entry assuring they meet the high quality standards ARCHIVE seeks to promote, representing various disciplines.
The second jury will also seek to verify that the proposal has thoroughly synthesized the information provided in the competition overview and Appendices. It is important to understand the relevance of health and how housing affects infectious disease transmission, how building methodologies or materials can be utilized to reduce disease, how community influences can evoke spatial relationships, how structural needs in a difficult environment can modify design, how environment inspires place, how cost impacts plausibility and how vernacular standards affect culture.
The jury will announce a decision on Tuesday December 7 and winners are to be posted on this page. Five winners will be chosen, each of which will go into a design development and construction documentation stage before ultimately undergoing construction in St. Marc, Haiti.
